Following a successful show in New York in 2006, Matthew Carr’s new exhibition in London has a markedly literary content. Carr’s preferred way of working is, as he describes it, “very intense blasts of concentration with no distraction” and this exhibition includes penetrating portrait drawings of some thirty writers, publishers and literary agents including studies of Beryl Bainbridge, Nicholas Coleridge, James Fenton, Antonia Fraser, Sebastian Faulks, Alan Hollinghurst, Tom Stoppard and A N Wilson.
