David Hockney Prints From 1960-1980

26 November 2003 - 16 January 2004

Artist Info

We are delighted to announce this exhibition of ‘early’ Hockney prints, our first in over ten years. As dealers in his prints for over forty years we have followed his career with great interest and selected a period for this exhibition which we believe is particularly interesting.

As the show crosses two decades of this prolific printer’s work we have selected key pieces to illustrate his use of technique and subject. Narrative etchings from the Brothers Grimm portfolio and The Blue Guitar are contrasted with lithographic portraits such as Henry at Table. In Artist and Model and The Student: Hommage to Picasso we see more evidence of Hockney’s fascination with the Spanish master, and his own mastery of etching.
