Daniel Quintero: Tumbling Landscapes

23 March 2004 - 16 April 2004

The 23 oil paintings which form this latest body of work offer an intimate response to the landscape and immediate surroundings in which Quintero was born and still lives, that of Malaga in Spain. These landscapes explore the uneasy relationship between nature and the man made in which water plays a principal, often menacing role. In many of these works, as if to emphasise this sense of disquiet, toppling buildings combine with exuberant brushwork and vibrant colour to create a certain ambiguity.
